Church mother body language a dead giveaway

-

Dear Editor,

Having finally read the statement by the church mother body I am left with little doubt that they have a partisan interest, they are not impartial.

Their suggestion that there is a political impasse in the country and as result the economy is performing badly is indicative of the language that the UPND uses.

UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has never seen anything good in this country. This is the same stance the church bodies have taken by stating in their statement that “:

The reference to violence is very disturbing because our country is nowhere near a crisis calling for a Government overthrow. We have just gone through peaceful elections where the only violence was limited to Southern Province where Bembas and people from the Eastern Province were hounded out.

It is important that those who want to lead in dialogue do so from a neutral ground rather than condemn the Party in power of abusing the public order act without condemning the violence and killings that the main opposition party has been responsible for. In any case these churches must tell the nation the subject of dialogue which is favored by the UPND as opposed to all the other parties operating in the country.

Dialogue should be about real issues as confronted by the whole country rather than a group of people who do not even respect the leadership.
