EXPOSED: POLITICIAN’S SECRET MEETINGS WITH STUDENTS

- By AARON CHIYANZO

STUDENTS have revealed that a former minister, has been having dark corner meetings with the learners, trying to lure them into believing that he was the awaited messiah to save the country.

The learners at National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) told the Daily Nation that the former minister had also endorsed a named student in the upcoming union elections at the institution. One of the students, whose name has been withheld said that he was part of a delegation of students that was invited by the politician to a home in Chelstone. The student disclosed that the man labored to tarnish the image of President Edgar Lungu at the meeting. “He was just saying things that made it look like the President has failed us and that it was only him who could save this nation. The man even endorsed the candidature of a student who is participating in the upcoming NIPASU elections,” he said. And in a separate interview, another student complained that the named politician was interfering with the smooth flow of the election campaigns at the institution of higher learning. He also confirmed that the politician had endorsed a named student and working tirelessly to secure him the union seat. The student questioned what agenda the politician had by trying to make sure that the named student scooped the seat. Earlier, some irate students had told the Daily Nation that a politician was sponsoring a candidate in the upcoming union elections, with fears that the move would fan lawlessness and chaos at the institution of learning. 3rd Liberation Movement (3rd LM) leader, Enock Tonga has called for a probe into the matter and ensure that the said politician was brought to book.
