MMD warns Chitika over ‘false’ accusations

ELIZABETH Chitika must provide evidence that Felix Mutati is using government resources to mobilise the MMD failure to which she will have her day in court to substantiate her claims, MMD chairperson for education Henry Mulenga has warned. Speaking to the Daily Nation yesterday, Mr. Mulenga said it was folly for a person of Ms. Chitika’s calibre who understood the operations of government to create an impression that political parties had an opportunity to misuse government resources for their mobilisation activities. He demanded that an explanation be given with undisputable evidence on the resources that Mr. Mutati has been allegedly using from government failure to which, the MMD will immediately institute legal proceedings against Ms. Chitika saying such unfounded wild allegations had the ability to tarnish the image of the party in public eye and bring government into disrepute. He said it was unfortunate that despite Mr. Mutati “sticking to his lane” and not engaging in fights with other faction leaders, there were some people like Ms. Chitika who concentrated their energy on demonising him. “Ms. Chitika is saying that Mr. Mutati is using government resources to mobilise the MMD and we have no problem with that as long as she can provide evidence to that effect. We dare Ms. Chitika to come forth and provide evidence that MMD is using government resources but if she does not want to do so, then, she must be ready to do so in court.
