HH must quit, his ego poisonous, says Tayali

- By NATION REPORTER

HAKA IN DE Hichilema must disappear from the political landscape if sanity is to be restored as his unwillingness to accept election results and forgive and forget has injected poison in Zambian politics says, Equity and Economic Party (EEP) president Chilufya Tayali. Mr Tayali said the current tension and debates over holding dialogue were triggered by Mr Hichilema’s egotism and failure to concede defeat in elections. He said Mr Hichilema was the only opposition leader in the country wo had failed to concede defeat in all elections and this has resulted in conflict among political players. Mr Tayali said that the solution to the planned national dialogue and easing the tension among political parties which has resulted in the political scene being flooded with insults, is for Mr Hichilema to resign from politics. “I do not hate HH no! But we cannot have a person who is bringing divisions in the country, because he always wants things his way, he has never accepted anything even when it is clear and as a result his followers start to think that he is being mistreated and this causes divisions in the country, ”he said. Mr Tayali said Mr Hichilema should not be tolerated and allowed to spoil Zambian politics. He said before Mr Hichilema joined the political sphere what was currently transpiring such as widespread violence was not there. Mr Tayali said that the issue of tribalism was not also prominent before Mr Hichilema arrived on the political scene. He said the current political acrimony was centred on Mr Hichilema and if dropped out, Zambians would be amazed at how sanity would be restored in the country. “Things will not be the same, even if GBM or Nalumango or anyone else became UPND president, because the problem is with HH. He does not like reality, he only wants things to be his way all the time,” Mr Tayali said.
