TAYALI RIPS CSO COWARDS
…Laura Miti is a pure politician, but too cowardly to join politics
Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Zambia are highly political because they are led by a bunch of cowards like Laura Miti, who do not have the courage to join politics says, Economic and Equity Party president Chilufya Tayali. Mr Tayali told Daily Nation that most CSOs in the country were funded by political parties and were only pursuing the agendas of politicians and not ordinary citizens. “Most of these vocal organisations are too political and are led by people who do not have the courage to just come out and join politics, I was in an NGO myself but I had the courage and I joined politics but these cowards have opted to hide behind CSOs,” he said. “Surely people like Mcdonald Chipenzi and Laura Miti, can you say they are from CSOs? They are pure politicians, it is only that they do not have the courage to come out in the open,” he said. Mr Tayali said it was sad that the voiceless currently had very little representation as most CSOs had decided to work for some political parties because of greed. Mr Tayali said the role of the CSOs had been diluted because most of them have opted to be used by politicians. He said there was need to relook at the definition of CSOs and assess whether most of the CSOs in the country qualified. Mr Tayali said most of the CSOs were always in the media talking about different matters without objectives because they were sent by politicians to drive certain agendas.
