Translate key policy areas, says Kopulande
CHEMBE Member of Parliament Sebastian Kopulande has asked Government Ministries to translate priority areas that President Edgar Lungu directed during his recent address to Parliament. Dr Kopulande cited poverty reduction, health care and education for all as some of the key priority areas that President Lungu referred to in his speech. He said the priority areas which also affected the people of Chembe were critical to the development of the country. Dr Kopulande said this when debating President Lungu’s address to Parliament. “The people of Chembe are looking for answers in ministerial police statements on the assurances that inputs will be delivered on time and we are not going to have a situation where the inputs are delivered late. “We are looking forward to answers on access to quality education, the people of Chembe are tired of seeing their children sitting on the floor. Children are learning in structures which are a risk to them, we are going to wait for ministerial policy statement to tell us how that will be done,” he said. Meanwhile, Dr Kopulande called for concerted efforts and unity in developing the country. He said developing Zambia was not only the President’s responsibility but everyone’s including the legislature. “There is need to put hands and efforts together to change the destiny of the country. We have a shared responsibility between the executive and legislature,” Dr Kopulande said.
