GBM ranting riles PF

GBM has been accused of fabricating lies aimed at dividing Luapula and the ruling party.

- By SIMON MUNTEMBA

“We are aware that our detractors are busy cooking up stories aimed at dividing the party but I have a message for them, we are focused on taking development to all parts of the country and no amount of baseless accusations and mudslinging will make us lose focus,” Mr Chitotela said.

Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development, Ronald Chitotela said GBM and all those fabricating lies to divide Luapula were just wasting their time because the ministers preoccupation was to take development to all parts of the country. And Mr Chitotela who is Pambashe Member of Parliament said the PF has a leader in President Edgar Lungu and as ministers and MPs serving under him, they were happy with his leadership style. Mr Chitotela was reacting to reports attributed to Mr mwamba that there was a power struggle between him and the Health Minister over who will lead “Luapula united” and take away the leadership from President Edgar Lungu was just mere propaganda and mudslinging from political opponents who are trying to divide them. He said he has a sound relationship with Dr Chilufya and called for unity among Zambians and PF MPs to ensure President Lungu’s administration delivers. “Right now, Zambia and the PF has a leadership in President Edgar Lungu and we as ministers and MPs are serving under him, which is our preoccupation. “We are aware that our detractors are busy cooking up stories aimed at dividing the Party but I have a message for them, we are focused on taking development to all parts of the country and no amount of baseless accusations and mudslinging will make us lose focus,” Mr Chitotela said. He called on Zambians to ignore propaganda by the enemies of development who have resorted to spreading lies against the Ministers and PF members to divide them. “The PF Government under President Edgar Lungu has a moral duty of advancing equal opportunities and economic empowerment for all Zambians. This is because discrimination, poverty and ignorance restrict growth at all levels. “President Lungu, always preaches unity of purpose and puts into practice the One Zambia One Nation Motto. There should be unity among all Zambians not only MPs but all Zambians. He added, “As Minister in charge of Housing and Infrastructure Development, I have been tasked to superintend over government’s agenda of putting up quality infrastructure in the country.” Mr Chitotela said it was for this reason that he had taken a deliberate aggressive approach of inspecting construction sites of various infrastructure projects which his ministry was undertaking in the country. He said he was a firm believer that quality infrastructure was a precursor of economic development adding that Government was putting up infrastructure and investing in social sectors such as education because it wants to reduce poverty and ignorance and create jobs and wealth. He said the PF Government has prioritised infrastructure development.
