Don’t be misled, ZDDM warns Zambians

- By NATION REPORTER

ZAMBIANS should stay away from lawlessness and avoid being used by politicians because instigators will not sympathise with them when they are arrested, the ZDDM has cautioned. ZDDM president Edwin Sakala said in an interview that some opposition political parties had resorted to sponsoring poor Zambians to take to the streets each time they felt aggrieved but appealed to citizens to take stock of what they were doing. Mr Sakala warned people who were being used by some political party leaders to desist from “selling their souls for a few coins” as they were the ultimate losers when they found themselves wanting before the law as those prescribing violence would not be there to stand for them. “A few days ago, some people on the Copperbelt rioted over the alleged sale of ZAFFICO but did you see any politician going to see them? Why have those people who fund them not gone to see them? “It is simply because their predicament is none of their business. Their business is to make this country ungovernable so that they can come through the back door. “Yesterday, we saw how families of those arrested are suffering. Some of these people who were rioting don’t even own a single sawmill. They are not even employees of ZAFFICO but they found themselves on the wrong side of the law because they sold their souls for a few coins dangled by those with a hidden agenda,” Mr. Sakala said. He said there were some misguided elements within the opposition who were funding confusion while fancying their chances of usurping power using illegitimate methods. “There is a growing trend among some politicians to think that by inciting Zambians to rise against a legitimate Government, they can facilitate for regime change. These are people who are itching for national leadership but they are using wrong means to get there because they have no idea what national leadership is about,” he said.
