FAZ Super Division side Nkana striker Ronaldw ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba has expressed delight for having scored 101 league goals in his eight-year career in the elite league with the Kitwe giants. Kampamba who scored 10-goals in the 2018 FAZ league to extend his league goal tally to 101 since 2010 when he made his debut appearance at Nkana Stadium, said he was proud of his achievements at ‘Kalampa’. Speaking in an interview from Kitwe yesterday, Kampamba hailed his team mates for helping him to make positive contributions to Nkana. “First of all I want to thank God for giving me the strength to score more than 100 goals for Nkana. It hasn’t been easy and I thank my teammates, my fans who are always encouraging me, the coaches and everyone who has helped me to make positive contributions to the team,” Kampamba said. Kampamba who scored a brace to help Nkana lift its first and only Barclays Cup two weeks ago said he was happy to have helped his team break the jinx of failing to lift the trophy which is Zambia’s only cup competition. He added that his next target will be to help his team to do well in the CAF champions’ League where ‘Kalampa’ will kick off its campaign with a tie against Desportivo do Songo of Mozambique. Kampamba launched his topflight career with Nkana in 2010, two years later he bagged his first golden boot after emerging as top scorer with 15 goals before repeating the feet in 2013 with 18 goals which helped Nkana to a record 12th title. With his 101 goals scored for Nkana, Kampamba who has had stints with Egyptian side Wadi Degla and Belgian outfit Lierse, joins the immaculate list of Zambian football legends such as Godfrey Chitalu, Boniface Simutowe, Bernard Chanda and Robertson Zulu who scored over a century goals in their careers. Chitalu and Simutowe turned up for Kabwe Warriors, while Chanda played for Rokana [Nkana] and Roan United. Zulu played for legend ary cup fighters Mufulira Wanderers.
