Deputy Chief Justice slams violations of children and women’s rights

-

DEPUTY Chief Justice Marvin Mwanamwambwa has condemned the continued violation of the rights of children and women by misguided forces in some African and Asian countries. Justice Mwanamwambwa, who is in Lucknow, India to attend the 19th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World, has told delegates that the killing and use of children to commit serious atrocities such as bombing public places is an unacceptable violation of their Godgiven rights. He said children do not deserve to die in terrorist or violent attacks fuelled by selfish interests. Justice Mwanamwambwa has noted that violence anywhere in the world disrupts people's lives as they cannot work freely to provide for their families. He said civil wars have claimed millions of lives of children in Africa ,adding that, he has observed similar trends in Asia. Meanwhile, Convenor of the conference and founder of City Montessori School, Jagdish Gandhi, has disclosed that he has written to US President Donald Trump, requesting him to convene a meeting of world leaders in 2019 with a view to creating a one-world order. Dr. Gandhi said a World Parliament is necessary for safeguarding the future of over 2.5 billion children of the world and the generations yet to be born. He informed the delegates that President Trump has since replied to his letter, stating that the 'White House is carefully reviewing his message.' Dr. Gandhi noted that the future of children all over the world has become more and more insecure and unprotected in the past seven decades since the second World War. He has observed that there has been large-scale creation and stock-piling of the deadliest weapons of mass destruction, spread of international terrorism, global warming and fear of a third world war and a nuclear holocaust which does not seem to be very far. At the same event, former President of South Africa Kgalema Motlanthe said there is need for nations to find a way of relating with one another humanely, and to apportion wealth equitably for the good of the children of the world. The conference is being held at City Montessori School, in the Indian city of Lucknow, under the theme 'Uniting the World for Children Through Enforceable World Law and Effective Global Governance.' City Montessori, with a student enrolment of about 60, 000, held the 2010-11 Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest school. The focus of this year's conference of Chief Justices of the world is to advocate for the creation of a World Government, which entails a global parliament and judiciary. The conference is addressing issues of regional and international terrorism, ethnic and civil wars, nuclear proliferation and disarmament, with the ultimate goal of global peace.
