Opposition a sham, says Bemba Chief

CHIEF Chikwanda of the Bemba speaking of Mpika District has charged that the current crop of opposition political parties is a sham and does not inspire confidence in the citizens because it was bent on spreading hate and falsehoods. The Chief said the opposition have failed to offer the much need checks and balances through on constructi­ve criticism instead of spreading hate and falsehoods. Chief Chikwanda said the type of politics being practiced by the opposition of lies and falsehood is a recipe for confusion in the country. ‘‘Leaders in opposition and those in government are supposed to sit and provide advise as opposed to criticisin­g everything. If veterans like Kenneth Kaunda, Fredrick Chiluba tested the law then who are those people that they cannot be dealt with. You know I always lauugh, what are you dialoguing for? Do we have a problem in this country? As far as am concerned there is peace in this country,” the chief said.
