A NIGERIAN company has secured land on Kasaba bay in Northern Province to put up a US $1 billion multi-purpose tourism facility which will consist of hotels, amusement parks, and a golf course among others.

Speaking to the Daily Nation yesterday, Seth James company president Mayawa Seth James Toba said his company had decided to set its footprints in Zambia because the country was not only a true investment destination for Africa, but of the entire world.

Mr. Toba said Kasaba Bay was a unique place to set up the billion dollar investment because of its location on Nsumbu National Park on Lake Tanganyika and that the area was idea for tourism.

“We have picked Kasaba bay as our destination for investment where we will invest in hotels, amusement parks, a golf course and make it an inter-augmented tourism site where people can come and bring their families. Our objective is to become a local and international destination so that they can experience something different because Kasaba bay is a unique site which is naturally blessed and we are going to bring out all its potential so that the whole world can see,” Mr. Toba said.

He said the inter-augmented tourism site would be the best single tourism infrastructure investment and that his company was excited to spread its tentacles to Zambia because of the peaceful investment environment the country was offering.

And MMD president Felix Mutati said a mega investment such as the Kasaba Bay project by the Nigerians was worth protecting and nurturing so that the country could benefit.
