“22km of roads, 10 new workers' houses set to finish in a month’s time. Next year there will be serious employment creation. The people of Luapula Province are not interested in petty politics that will not feed them.

“We have chosen development over politics of hate speech, deceit and malice. Thank you President Edgar Lungu for this,” Mr Chilangwa said in a statement at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Mr Chilangwa who is also Kawambwa Central PF Member of Parliament (MP) urged the contractor engaged to construct Kashikishi - Chienge Road to expedite the works.

“The people of Chiengi, Nchelenge and the entire Luapula together with our colleagues in Northern have waited for the upgrading of this road for a very long time. This is an economic road and an important trade route to the Northern Parts of the Katanga Province in the DRC and the Great lakes region

“We need to reduce poverty, by unlocking the full economical potential of Chiengi and Nchelenge in fisheries, agriculture, tourism and mining,” Mr Chilangwa said.
