Northern Province gets limelight
Dear Editor,
As a native of Northern Province, I am happy for the exposure that the province is getting. It is about time. The province has great potential which if utilized can lead to great development and improvement of living standards of the people. In recent times, the province has actually been one of the biggest producers of maize because of good rainfall that the region receives while other places in the country struggle. In addition, the province has many ancient and historical sites that could be developed into tourist attractions.
Then we have the numerous waterfalls being harnessed for hydropower generation. These too, can be marketed as tourist attractions.
Add the vast virgin land and forests that the province has to offer. The province does indeed have potential for development.
Hopefully, this expo is just the beginning of good things to come to the province.
The 12 districts in the province will definitely benefit.
The planting of trees will also help to stem the deforestation that has hit some parts of the country.
The potential for setting up tourist spots is there. This is one area that is just waiting for people with right ideas to set up shop.
