ESwathinis’ Young Buffaloes arrive
GREEN Eagles opponents in the CAF Confederations Cup championship Young Buffaloes of eSwatini arrived in Zambia yesterday ahead of Wednesday’s CAF Confederations cup preliminary fixture at Independence Stadium in Choma.
Meanwhile, CAF has approved the use of Choma’s Independence Stadium and Choma town for Green Eagles’ upcoming fixture against Young Buffalos.
Independence Stadium will for the first time host a CAF confederations Cup fixture after passing the test following CAF officials visit to inspect the stadium on November 13th.
The officials led by CAF club licensing instructor, Derek Blanckensee accompanied by FAZ officials inspected the pitch, doping room, media centre, officials and teams’ rooms, toilets as well as the surroundings of the Stadium and verified it fit to host CAF game against Buffaloes who arrived yesterday in Livingstone.
The plane carrying the buffaloes touched down at 12:30 hours at Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone where the team connected to Choma for the crucial CAF Confederations Cup fixture.
Green Eagles will on November 28th host Young Buffaloes in the first CAF confederations Cup preliminary stage before visiting eSwatini a week letter.
Green Eagles had set up camp in Gaborone, Botswana where they played a series of friendly matches in readiness for the CAF game against Young Buffaloes.
While in Botwana, the Zambia National Service sponsored Eagles played against Jwaneng Galaxy FC who they held to a 1-1 stalemate before suffering a 3-0 defeat to Township Rollers in the second fixture.
Eagles picked its only victory in Botswana after beating Botswana Defense Force 2-1 to conclude their Bostwana tour on a positive note.
