ISLAMIC Council of Zambia has appealed to Minister of Religious Affairs Godfridah Sumaili to be included to participate in the long awaited national dialogue to be led by the three Church mother bodies.

Council president Suzyo Zimba in an interview yesterday, said the Muslim community must be considered because they were also affected by what was prevailing in Zambia.

Mr Zimba said Islam was a religion like any other in Zambia and it needs to participate in issues concerning the well- being of the country.

He was confident that the Muslim community represented by the Council would contribute positively and offer solutions to ensure there was political stability in Zambia.

“The Ministry must consider us in this important matter so that we can contribute positively and offer solutions,” Mr Zimba said.

Rev Mwanza said the date would soon be made known to the public, adding that the church mother bodies were making strides to ensure that the process of setting the date was expedited.
