Stop infighting, EFZ tells Lusaka PF

- By NATION REPORTER

INFINGHTIING among Patriotic Front (PF) members aspiring for the upcoming Lusaka Province intra party elections should stop immediately because repercussions have the potential to spill over to entire political space, Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) executive director Pukuta Mwanza has said.

Rev Mwanza reminded all candidates aspiring for the Lusaka PF leadership that they belonged to the same family.

He was reacting to reports that some candidates who were aspiring for position were now at loggerheads with each other.

Rev Mwanza said in an interview that campaigns for any election should about selling ideas to the electorates and not bringing enmity among competitors.

He warned that internal wrangles in a political party brought about divisions and had the potential to spill over to entire political space.

Rev Mwanza called on all aspirants for the upcoming provincial leadership election to campaign peacefully, without name calling.

“They all belong to one big family, the PF so we at least do not expect any squabbles among them. There should not be any hatred among contestants in any election. Campaigns are about selling ideas, so why create enmity?” he questioned.

Rev Mwanza challenged the ruling party to lead by example by remaining peaceful as it carried out its ongoing intra- party elections.

He reiterated that citizens expected individuals vying for public office to be respectful of others and encouraging peace all the time.

Among the notable aspiring candidates for the PF Lusaka chairperson election include Chongwe Mayor Geoffrey Chumbwe, former PF Lusaka province youth chairman Kennedy Kamba and former State House permanent secretary Emmanuel Chilubanama.
