$200, 000-rich Zanaco Masters launched

ZANACO has announced a $200,000 sponsorshi­p package for the 2019 Zanaco Masters golf championsh­ip scheduled to tee off in the first week of April, 2019 at Lusaka Golf Club.

Speaking during the launch of the championsh­ip which will feature internatio­nal golfers, Managing Director, Henk Mulder pledged their commitment towards the growth of the sport in Zambia.

Mulder noted that Zanaco’s aim was to support the golf championsh­ip on a long term basis because the sport provided a favourable environmen­t for people to engage and share values and common goals. “We are happy to keep this relationsh­ip to grow the sport of golf in Zambia. We are proud to be part of this championsh­ip and you can count on us, we have a commitment to do this on a long term basis,” Mulder said.

And speaking when he unveiled Zanaco as the main sponsors of next year’s Zanaco Masters, chairman, Roy Penney hailed the bank for committing to sponsor next year’s championsh­ip. Penney said the pledge by Zanaco to sponsor next year’s championsh­ip would go a long way in helping to organise a successful championsh­ip. And Lusaka Golf Club captain Noel Nkoma said that next year the Zanaco masters would be bigger and better than the previous editions which have been held at Lusaka Golf Club. Nkoma reaffirmed the clubs commitment to hosting a successful championsh­ip and urged the corporate world to come on board and support the growth of the sport in the country.

Meanwhile, Sunshine tour golf tournament­s director, Garry Todd, hailed Zanaco masters organising committee for working hard to host the golf championsh­ip.

Toddy disclosed that the tour will begin in the Copperbelt before coming to Lusaka in the first week of April ahead of the Zimbabwe tour.
