PF youths hails plans to rehabilitate NCZ

- By ANNIE ZULU

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) youths in Kafue have welcomed Government’s decision to rehabilitate the two ammonium nitrate Plants at Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia in Kafue.

The PF youths commended Government for its commitment to resuscitating NCZ by pledging to spend colossal sums of money on rehabilitating the fertilizer manufacturing company.

The youths said the move clearly indicates how Government understands the importance of NCZ, not only to the agriculture sector but the economy of the country as a whole.

Meanwhile the PF youths have castigated PF Kabwe Central MP Tutwa Ngulube for objecting to Government’s decision to rehabilitate the two ammonium Nitrate Plants at NCZ in Kafue.

The PF youths said if Government wants to build new ammonium Nitrate Plants, they should be constructed at NCZ because the company had vast land in Kafue to accommodate such type of development.

Speaking on behalf of the youths, James Nyirenda who was flanked by Alex Mutale and Joseph Mutale, advised Mr Ngulube to concentrate on problems in his constituency and leave issues in Kafue to people who have the capacity to resolve problems in the area.

“We as PF staunch cadres want to advise Hon.Tutwa Ngulube to concentrate on resolving problems in his constituency and leave Kafue to people who have the capacity to resolve problems in Kafue. We believe Kabwe Central Constituency has a lot of problems which Hon Ngulube can use all his energies and resources to try and address them.” Nyirenda said.

Responding to a question in Parliament from Kafue Member Miriam Chonya yesterday, Finance Minister Margaret Mwanakatwe disclosed that government wouldspend US$50 million United States dollars to rehabilitate the two ammonium Nitrate Plants at NCZ in Kafue.
