Arrest new Sesheke MP

-

Dear Editor,

IT makes very sad reading that UPND’s newly elected Sesheke Member of Parliament Romeo Kang’ombe is threatening to organise cadres to forcefully remove the District Commissioner from office. This is just confirmation that UPND is a violent party.

Thugs give birth to thugs and it is not just a mere coincidence that Mr. Kang’ombe, a few minutes after being declared the winner, was already plotting on who next to pounce on because in his feeble mind, he is in that office to fix opponents.

The chick that is going to be a cock is spotted on the day it is hatched and going by that adage, the people of Sesheke will have themselves to blame for voting for a thug.

Instead of preoccupying himself with how he will contribute to the development of this country through the enactment of sound laws that will safeguard the interest of Zambians, he already is organising the UPND impis whom he wants to unleash on the DC. Mr. Kang’ombe must realise that the DC, Mr Mubita Siamana was appointed by the President and it is only him who can drop him and not the UPND thugs he is inciting against him.

The people of Sesheke voted for him to represent them and not to start settling scores with perceived enemies.

Mr. Kang’ombe and Mr. Mubita are all in leadership to serve the people and not to soothe their ego of political inclination at the expense of political hegemony but as usual, you will never hear the UPND condemn him because that is what they stand for.

They are a bunch on individuals so puffed up with the desire to lead that they fail to realise that politics is about service provision and not physical combat.

Those ugly scenes that are characterised the Sesheke parliamentary by-election are still fresh in our minds and to hear an elected leader threatening violence, is a shame.

My appeal to the police is that in their quest to bring to book the people who perpetrated violence in the just-ended by-election, they should knock on the door of Mr. Kang’ombe.

He will provide very good and lead information that will help them arrest the people behind the scourge from the UPND camp.

KANTE, Livingstone.
