Build decent market for Ndeke - Vorna women

-

Dear Editor, PLEASE help us publish this letter in your widely read newspaper. We read with dismay the attitude of Meanwood Property Development Corporation in issuing unwarranted warning letters to our women group in Ndeke- Vorna for selling their merchandise at the boom or any space left by Meanwood Corporation.

It should be noted that Chongwe District Council as well as Meanwood Property Development Corporation has failed to help our residents in these two areas to have a decent market for our women.

On February 12, 2019 Meanwood Property Development Corporation circulated unwarranted letters to our women at the boom to stop selling their goods without allocating them an alternative place to sell.

This was done in the presence of our PF ward chairlady in Madido 19.

She was in the forefront advocating this inhuman action without defending or helping her fellow women.

We wonder what our councillor is doing to save our residents in Ndeke- Vorna from the cruelty by perpetuated by this stubborn entity.

We, therefore, urge our Constituency Ward chairman for Madido 19, the ward councillor and indeed the management of Chongwe District Council to stop Mean Wood Property Development Corporation from taking such action as most women are feeding their children from vending.

It should be noted that not every resident has a means to survive.

The area is a mixed grill such that others are in employment, retirees, loafers, etc.

We also urge the ward chairman to discipline this chairlady who is fond of not engaging her bosses like the ward chairman, constituency chairman and ward councillor but does things without permission.

Let Chongwe District Council and the MP construct a market for our residents instead of being bulldozed by Meanwood Property Development Corporation management who have no hearts in any way but are only interested to maximise their profits.

Concerned resident, MWAPE CHABALA.
