ZAM Valentines Gift
Dear Editor, I WANT to take this opportunity to thank the President of the Republic of Zambia His Excellency Mr Edgar Lungu through the Minister of Lands Ms Jean Kapata for the timely offer of land by the Government to the Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM).
This is meant for the purposes of the construction of a multifaceted state of the art music performance and production/ auditorium facility which will certainly contribute in many ways towards the much needed development of the Zambian music industry.
The pronouncement of the offer of land to musicians through ZAM by Ms Kapata on February 14, 2019 is indeed a milestone in the musical history of our country and should be supported by all musicians, artistes, Government Departments, individuals citizens, private companies and corporate institutions.
The construction and operationalization of this music resource and education center whose benefits are expected to trickle down to the larger majority of young people in the creative industries and informal sector at large should be a collective vision which will stand the test of time.
We call on musicians to rally behind ZAM and its leadership and remain United with One Voice in our quest for a better music and arts industry for all.
