Milombwe Secondary School construction on track

- BY PETER MALASHA

CONSTRUCTION of Milombwe Secondary School in Mkushi is progressing well, Parents Teachers Association (PTA) chairman Golden Musonko has said.

Mr Musonko said construction works were on track and that soon the project would be through depending on the supply of building materials.

Mr. Musonko said already a 1x 2 classroom block and another 1x two ablution block had been completed and only remained to be roofed.

He said the slab and foundation had also been put up for both laboratory as well as home economics department.

He said the construction team now lacked building materials such as blocks and quarry.

“The project is on course and we are progressing well despite few challenges such as blocks being in short supply. Work is going on and we are pushing,” Mr. Musonko said.

Mr. Musonko added that the project was supposed to have been completed last January but could not because of the shortage of building materials.

Mr. Musonko appealed to the relevant authorities to ensure that materials were supplied on time to avoid further delays.

The Ministry of General Education through the Zambia Education Enhancement Project (ZEEP) has sourced funding from the World Bank to facilitate construction of Milombwe day Secondary School in Mkushi.
