plan to construct a 1X2 classroom block at Kabumya Primary School in Kaunga Ward, a 1 X 2 classroom block at Chunga Primary School in Chunga Ward and a 1 X 3 classroom block at Chibesa Primary School in Lubwa Ward,’’ Mr Mukosa said.
He said the CDF committee had also approved the purchase of roofing materials to repair classroom blocks at Mishishi and Mulilansolo primary schools, and Chinsali Day Secondary School whose roofs were blown off by heavy rains.
‘‘During this rainy season, we have experienced situations where classroom blocks have been blown off by storms so we intend to purchase and repair these classroom blocks from the same K850,000 that has been allocated to the education sector,’’ he said.
He said the CDF Committee had also set aside K230, 000 for the construction of market shelters at Mundu and Tongo tongo areas in Chilanga and Chilinda wards respectively.
Some funds had also been reserved for the construction of two market shelters in Chilanga and Chilinda wards following applications from communities in the said areas, Mr Mukosa said.
He said the Ministry of Local Government had already approved the projects to be funded and that implementation would start soon.
