‘Stop character assassination’
ALLIANCE for Good Governance president Joseph Chileshe has called on opposition political parties to stop politics of character assassination.
Mr Chileshe said that political leaders should instead offer checks and balances to Government and share ideas that would help develop the country.
He was speaking in an interview in Ndola yesterday.
Mr Chileshe said the current politics that were being practiced were not helping the nation.
He said that there was need for maturity in the political arena adding that there were a lot of issues that needed to be discussed among politicians instead of character assassination. "There is need for maturity in the political arena which needs to address various concerns of the country instead of focusing on character assassination," he said.
He stated that political leaders should be able to tell the people of Zambia what developmental projects they would bring.
He noted that the economy had a lot of social, economic and cultural issues that needed the attention of leaders in the country.
Mr Chileshe therefore appealed to all political party leaders to stop politics of character assassination but instead focus on issues of primary concern in the country.
