MUFUMBWE COUNCIL APPROVES 17 CDF PROJECTS
MUFUMBWE Town Council has approved 17 projects to be financed under the K1.6 million 2018 Constituency Development Fund (CDF), Member of Parliament Eliot Kamondo has confirmed. Mr Kamondo told the Daily Nation in an interview that the projects included the rehabilitation of the Kalengwa-Kabipupu road at a cost of K93,356 and construction of a market shelter at Nyansonso at a cost of K65,397.
Others are completion of a 1x3 classroom block at Jairos Fumpa Secondary School at a cost of K79,831 and the completion of male and female wards at Kaminzekenzeke clinic at a cost of K62, 000.
The construction of a staff house at Kashima East at a cost of K120, 000, construction of a market shelter at Kalengwa turn off at a cost of 65,397 and construction of a classroom block at Musonwiji Secondary School at a cost of K150, 000 are also on the list.
‘’I can confirm that Mufumbwe Town Council has approved 17 projects that will be funded under the Constituency Development Fund for 2018 as alluded to.
Some of the projects are new while the majority are old ones which are being completed,’’ he added.
And Mr Kamondo has encouraged Government to be releasing the funds timely to address some of the challenges faced by the people in the various constituencies.
‘’Like for instance in 2017 we couldn’t get all the funds, so, if we can receive it regularly, it can go a long way to alleviate some of the challenges especially in rural areas,’’ he said.
