Kachingwe hailed for exposing UPND’s duplicity
MAJOR Richard Kachingwe has been praised by the Bishops Council of Zambia (BCZ) for exposing the duplicity of UPND which has spoiled the prospects of national dialogue.
In an interview with the Daily Nation, BCZ secretary-general Reverend Able Kaela said with Maj.Kachingwe’s expose of the UPND assassination hoax, the much-anticipated national dialogue would not succeed. Rev. Kaela was reacting to an expose by Mr Hakainde Hichilema’s advisor, Major Kachingwe that there were schemes by UPND to create confusion in Zambia which involved some media houses and a college lecturer.
Maj. Kachingwe, speaking at a press briefing on Sunday, claimed the UPND and some journalists and media houses were behind Mr Hichilema’s assassination machinations in which they used his son’s image as the assailant just for political expediency.
Maj. Kachingwe said the assassination hoax was all part of an elaborate scheme that included a journalist from a local Television Station and a former college lecturer affiliated to the UPND, who has been the architect of false messages and pictures that the party sends out. But Rev. Kaela who thanked Maj. Kachingwe for exposing the UPND evil schemes said with such revelation, the national dialogue will not be successful because the opposition can not be trusted. He explained that the national dialogue was headed for doom because some stakeholders were not genuine. “First of all, we are grateful for what has happened because we now know that God is watching. What we saw and heard during the by-elections in Sesheke was bad and we thank Maj. Kachingwe for opening up our eyes.
