Chanda defends strong language on Milupi
SPECIAL assistant to the President for press and public relations Amos Chanda has defended his use of strong language against Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) leader, Charles Milupi.
Mr Chanda allegedly used strong language against Mr Milupi for claiming that he was among the officers directing violence in Sesheke during the just ended parliamtary by-election and that he needed to be reported to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
He said, however, that Mr Milupi’s ignorance vindicated him because despite showing evidence that he was not in Sesheke district or in the country at the said time, the opposition had continued to make the same allegation.
Mr Chanda said during that period, he was at the mining Indaba in Cape Town.
He said that Mr Milupi did not apologized for his claims despite being aware of the evidence that he was not in Sesheke, but proceeded to make fresh claims insisting that he had evidence that Mr Chanda was in the area.
He reiterated that it was because of Mr Milupi’s ignorance that he stated that the scenario proved that the opposition leader was not of the posture of balanced mind, but delusion.
Mr Chanda was responding to a debate on tweeter by political commentator and historian, Dr Sishuwa Sishuwa, who urged him to use less strong language.
“Shishuwa, with your balanced mind, what explanation do you have for Milupi’s insistence, 7 days later that I was in Sesheke, that he has pictorial evidence! That if I wasn’t, then the International Criminal Court (ICC) would then acquit me!”
But Dr Shishuwa advised Mr Chanda to use less strong language to critics of President Lungu and his administration;
