THE Opposition Alliance should stop embarrassing Zambia through false propaganda being peddled by its members, MMD die-hard National Youth Coordinator Gerald Chiluba has warned.

Mr Chiluba said Zambia was experiencing economic setbacks as a result of the deceptive and manipulative techniques by power hungry men in the opposition camp.

“It was clear that the Alliance has misplaced priorities, instead of campaigning within the boundaries of the country, there are campaigning to the whole World,” he said.

Mr Chiluba told Daily Nation yesterday that the behaviour was uncalled for as it continued to embarrass Zambia.

“As MMD die hard we want to join the fight against false propaganda which is being peddled by the so called Opposition Alliance,

“There is need by all of us to stand in solidarity with our country and curtail the propaganda which is being instigated by men who are not keen to the virtue of co- existence and national unity,” he said.

Mr Chiluba said allowing false propaganda to continue would affect every citizen, adding therefore that there was need to declare cold war against all forms of manipulation and deception by the Alliance to safeguard Zambia’s integrity and reputation.

He reminded citizens to embrace patriotism and show allegiance to Zambia not to a political party or a group of people by helping in depicting a sincere picture of the status quo.

“We also want to urge all missions designated in various countries to take a proactive role of communicating facts by always countering any news with the potential to put the name of our country in disrepute in order to prevent the international community from consuming fake news,” Mr Chiluba said.
