CB PF braces for Roan campaign

- By NATION REPORTER

THE electorate in Roan constituency in Luanshya should not look elsewhere because the Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Joel Chibuye is equal to the task and ready to deliver, Copperbelt Chairman Nathan Chanda has declared.

Mr Chanda said Mr Chibuye, who is former Luanshya District Commissioner was equal to the task and the people of Roan constituency should give him chance to prove himself in the by-election set for next month.

He was speaking in an interview in Kitwe yesterday. Mr Chanda, who is also Luanshya Mayor, urged all the party structures on the Copperbelt to be united and work towards retaining the seat.

“We have a by-election in Roan constituency and I am calling upon all loyal and committed PF members to support the candidature of Mr Chibuye.

“To the electorate in Roan constituency, I am urging them not to look elsewhere because the PF candidate is the right man for the job. He has sober and palatable language. He is not arrogant and is always ready to work with people,’’ Mr Chanda said.

He assured the electorate and all stakeholders that the PF would not engage in any form of violence, but would articulate issues during campaigns in the April 11 byelection.

Mr Chanda said, unlike some opposition parties, the PF would not resort to hate-speech, but would engage people in a mature and objective manner.

“They cannot talk about schools, roads and health infrastructure constructed across the country. With these developments taking place, the only story they can tell to Zambians is corruption, which not there,” he said.
