LEAVE NATHAN CHANDA ALONE – PF YOUTHS

- By JOSSY CHAIMA

PATRIOT Front youths on the Copperbelt say it is wishful thinking to use the Roan by-election as a yard-stick to determine the capability of PF Copperbelt Chairman Nathan Chanda.

PF Kitwe district youth chairman Kaboba Mukuzo said Mr Chanda was capable and that the loss should be borne collectively.

Mr Mukuzo was speaking in Kitwe yesterday during a media briefing.

He said Mr Chanda`s leadership had delivered the PF victory in Chililabombwe during a by-election in Anoya Zulu ward.

"It is wishful and folly to use by-election as a thinking the Roan yardstick to determine or measure the capacity of our youthful provincial chairman's mandate of steering our great province to economical and political success.

"We are reminded by the fact that not too long ago Mr. Nathan Chanda with his provincial team did deliver a resounding victory in the Anoya Zulu ward by-election in Chililabombwe which was predominantly held by the opposition UPND in the past years," he said. Recently, National Democratic Congress (NDC) consultant Chishimba Kambwili during an interview on Prime Television claimed that Copperbelt could not be led by a youth and alleged that PF was doomed under Mr Chanda. Mr Mukuzo has since advised that members and other stakeholders should give Mr Chanda enough space and time to execute his duties both as Copperbelt chairman and Mayor of Luanshya.

Mr Mukuzo has urged all PF members to ignore Mr Kambwili's sentiments and instead support Mr Chanda's leadership.

"May we also remind Mr Kambwili that the newly elected Roan Member of Parliament Joseph Chishala is indeed a youth who has been tasked to deliver to the expectations of the people in Roan Constituency and this just exposes Mr Kambwili's insincerity and personal hatred towards Mr Chanda," he said.

Mr Mukuzo has also condemned the behaviour of the cadres in the video making rounds on social media insulting Mr Kambwili .

He said Mr Kambwili was a family man who should be respected.
