Stop wasting your time, Nevers told
NEVERS Mumba and his hand-picked executive must swallow their pride and recognise the legitimate MMD president Felix Mutati instead of
fighting a losing battle,
party national secretary Raphael Nakachinda has said.
Mr Nakachinda told the Daily Nation yesterday, Mr Mutati was a legitimately elected leader who was now running the opposition party.
He said that it was prudent for Dr Mumba’s faction to accept the will of the party members.
Mr Nakachinda said the people had elected the former Minister of Finance at the convention because they had trust that he was the one who would revitalise the MMD.
Dr Nevers Mumba who kicked off a nationalwide tour, said on the Copperbelt on Tuesday, that time had come for the former ruling party to liberate the nation.
Dr Mumba said time for Mr Mutati had come to an end as party members wanted him to revive the party to improve the welfare of the country. He called on the entire party membership to return to the party and rally behind him during the 2021 general election.
And Dr Mumba’s faction national secretary Winnie Zaloumis said it was time up for the expelled MMD member Mr Mutati.
But Mr Nakachinda said Dr Mumba’s faction was dreaming as Zambians already knew the rightful MMD president.
“Every Zambian knows that Nevers Mumba is day dreaming and it will be important that we don’t waste our time to respond to him.
“People of Zambia already know that president Mutati is the legitimate elected leader of the former ruling party. Let Dr Mumba waste his time because the party members are with Mr Mutati,” Mr Nakachinda said.
