Insults and Chishimba Kambwili

- Dear Editor, BERNARD GONDWE.

IT is said that he who laughs last laughs most. is is the experience that Chishimba Kambwili is going through. It is interesting that Kambwili has written the Police demanding the arrest of the people who insulted him and members of his family. For a start I do not support insulting language but I found it intriguing that CK whose language is nothing but insults should be the rst person to complain to the Police after being subjected to his own brand of politics-insults. at is how other people he insults feel. He should know that the people he is calling a Pompwee and thieves have families who are pained by these insults and sentiments which are usually

generalised and intended to hurt rather than form a basis for any forensic exercise. Politics of insults have no basis in fact, they are simply aimed at in aming feelings against opponents who are presented as demons and people of little value. Politics should be about issues and matters concerning the people, and not dealing with the personalities of other people who are quite capable of revealing and uncovering the dirt behind the accuser. e Bible is very clear about this matter, nobody is clean and sinless. All have sinned thereby requiring grace for salvation. e whole essence of reconciliation as demanded by the Gospel is to view areas other as human beings capable of failing and when we do fall like the Prodigal son, community must be ready to forgive and guide and not to condemn and demonise. I hope Kambwili has learnt a lesson from what has happened because he has a long way to go in his life including the many cases that he is facing in court which may result in conviction, in which case he has to make peace with the country for his loud mouth.
