- By ENOCK KADEMAUNGA

UNCSCRUPOLUS people using the name of the party to harass and victimize traders should refrain from doing so because they risked severe repercussions, Patriotic Front Lusaka Province Youth chairperson Daniel Kalembe has warned.

Speaking when he toured Markets in Lusaka’s Kanyama Constituency where traders have complained of harassment by people masquerading as PF cadres, Mr Kalembe said the party does not condone lawlessness.

He warned that those using the name of party for illegal activities for their selfish benefits would be dealt with.

concerned with reports and it was not going to tolerate any one or defend any per

son using the name of the party to engage in illegal acitivities.

He said those harassing people were not even in the party structures but were using the name of the ruling party to benefit themselves.

“During my time as Provincial Youth Chairperson, I am not going to allow anyone to destroy the name of the party for their benefit. PF is a pro-poor party and without the marketeers and bus drivers, we would not be in power. There is no way we will condone wrong doers, people should be free to conduct business,” he said.

Mr. Kalembe said the party would not rest until residents were protected and benefited from the markets and other structures set up for them.

Mr. Kalembe urged marketeers to report all illegal activities to local authorities and the police so that appropriate action was taken.

Meanwhile Mr Kalembe said he was happy with the efforts made to keep the markets clean and healthy and has since urged users to guard the property jealously.
