PRAY FOR ‘SQUABBLING’ POLITICAL PARTIES - FR MULASIKWANDA

- By ANDREW MUKOMA

CHRISTIANS have been urged to pray for political parties that are experiencing internal squabbles because they are led by Christians.

A Catholic priest in Livingstone Fr Clifford Mulasikwanda, observed that as Christians, Zambians should learn to forgive one another.

In his homily during Mass dubbed Alleluia Sunday — Fr Mulasikwanda . at St Theresa Cathedral Parish in Livingstone, Fr Mulasikwanda observed that Christians had a role to play in peace building by praying for politicians. He said the country had seen a number of political parties going through challenges. "We need to look at domestic politics, there are so many squabbles in political parties... But the issue is that politics are meant to serve humanity.

"We need to pray for these political parties as Christian during this Easter. They must learn to forgive each other," he said. He said the resurrection of Jesus Christ, celebrated by Christians world over, marks the beginning of people to learn to forgive each other.

"The power of resurrection meets with challenges in our lives. Those obstacles that prevent our spiritual beliefs are rode away by the resurrection of Jesus Christ," Fr Mulasikwanda added.

He said forgiveness should be the hallmark of Easter not just for political leaders but every Zambian.

We need to look at domestic politics, there are so many squabbles in political parties... But the issue is that politics are meant to serve humanity.
