Trainee cop angers magistrate

A KITWE magistrate has expressed displeasur­e over a trainee police officer who forged a grade certificat­es when enrolling for training.

Senior Resident Magistrate, swald wansa Chibalo, said it was wrong for a law enforcer to forge his certificat­e adding that it was the reason why many police officers were a problem.

He said this in a case in ol ing with a year old, incent asole, who enrolled at amfinsa chool of ublic Order and Maintenanc­e using a forged grade 12 school certificat­e.

asole was in court for continuati­on of trial but he applied to have his plea changed and admitted forgery and uttering a falsified document.

n arch this year, Masole denied forging and uttering a grade 12 school certificat­e and trail had commenced with two of his trainers testifying that he had confessed to them about using a grade certificat­e that belonged to his friend amson achemba.

hen as ed how far he had gone with his secondary education, Masole said he wrote his grade e amination but did not perform well.

He added that he did not ha e money to re write the examinatio­n and decided to forge so that he could find employment.

n the first count, asole between eptember and ebruary this year in itwe asole forged a grade school certificat­e e amination number , purporting to show that it was duly issued by amination Council of Zambia when in fact not.
