Mulenga upbeat on Livingstone terminus, market works
COMPLETION of the Livingstone modern market and the international bus terminus entirely depends
Commandant, Lieutenant General Nathan Mulenga has said.
The works on the two projects in the Tourist Capital had stalled for some time raising concerns among many stakeholders including government officials.
Last month, Local Government Minister, Vincent Mwale announced that K8m had been released for the completion of the two structures and that the funds were released by NAPSA after entering into a partnership with the Ministry of Local Government.
The minister said ZNS who were already on site would complete the projects.
And in an interview with journalists in Livingstone after inspecting the works, Lt General Mulenga said he was happy with the progress made so far.
He disclosed that the two projects were supposed to finished b ebruar but with the determination, works could be completed ahead of schedule.
“I am very impressed with what I have seen so far as you know we are within the mobilisation time. We were given 14 days in which to mobilise but we have already mobilised and works have started,” he said
“My only appeal is that the ow of funds must be constant and the K8 released so far is just part of the funding,” he said.
He said K35million total cost required, the money was being released in batches and he hoped it could be constant for the projects to completed ahead of schedule.
The organisation held a fundraising braai in Solwezi at the weekend and raised about K31,000 in pledges.
Organisation chairperson, Sambo Fwoloshi, applauded Government for creating an enabling environment for women to explore their potential.
