LUBUSHA BOUNCES BACK

THE Patriotic Front in Eastern Province has vowed to engage its members on a widely consultative post-election reconciliation and unification programme as a follow-up to the recently held intra-party poll in Chipata, says provincial chairperson Andrew Lubusha.
Mr Lubusha told the that it was important for the party to make things right before moving forward as a way of strengthening the party.
He said his leadership was about ensuring stability and growth building on the values of national unity and continuity for the common good of every Zambian regardless of their political affiliation.

helm of the provincial structure unopposed, which he attributed to he party’s growth from the time he was appointed.
“In 2015 when I was appointed by President Edgar Lungu, Eastern Province had four parliamentarians. In 2016 when we engaged and collaborated with the grassroots communities we managed to increase the number to 16,” he said.
“During the same period we experienced an increase in the number of councillors from three to 155 and that speaks a lot to what we did together and what we can achieve if we continue to work together as a patriotic family,” Mr Lubusha said.
He said learning from history the party was looking forward to restoring the moral and Ubuntu by allowing every member to air their views to build an invincible party ahead of 2021.
“We will continue working with the people, who are the reason we are here. As PF we are carrying a people-driven development plan and we are willingly working without compromise, for that is our duty as a ruling party,” Mr Lubusha said.
He said it was for this reason that the provincial executive committee wanted to build on what the people wanted.
Some of the members of the newly-elected committee are Gerald Zimba (provincial vice chairperson), Kolosa Joseph (secretary), Sensio Banda (vice secretary), Zephenia Mwale (treasurer), James Nyoni (vice treasurer), William Phiri (information and publicity secretary) and Chembe Daka (vice IPS).
The provincial women’s league comprises Margret Miti (chair lady), Catherine Tembo (vice chair lady), Vitaline Banda (secretary), Zelina Mwange (vice secretary), Olipa Phiri
(treasurer), Yoko Phiri (vice treasurer) Juliana Banda (IPS) and Merina Mtonga (vice IPS).
The youth committee consists of Emmanuel Banda (chairman), Gadson Tembo (vice chairman), Chimwemwe Daka (secretary), Patrick Nyirenda (vice secretary) Kuzwayo Daka (treasurer), Mukanda Phiri (vice treasurer), Maison Phiri (IPS) and Andrew Gondwe (vice IPS).
