POLICE DETAIN INDIAN NATIONAL OVER STOLEN KCM PROPERTY

POLICE on the Copperbelt have apprehende­d an Indian national in connection with the theft of two flash disks valued at US $ 1000 at the KCM smelter.

Copperbelt Police Commission­er Charity Katanga told the Daily Nation that Ramgulam Ging, 41, of house number 23, 7th street, Nchanga South Township in Chingola, was picked on Thursday to help with investigat­ions.

Ms. Katanga said Mr. Ging is a hydraulic fitter who is also a contractor under AMSL.

She said Mr. Ging was picked in relation to the theft that occurred on June 4, 2019 between 10:43 hours and 15:27 hours at KCM smelter casting wheel control room.

“This is a matter regarding theft by a public servant with operating license involving two flash discs.

An Indian national has been arrested in connection with the theft valued at US $1000 from the KCM smelter.

The case occurred on June 4, 2019 between 10:43 hours and 15:27 hours at KCM smelter casting wheel control room. “The case was reported by KCM head of security Max G. Maona.

Ramgulam Ging, 41, of house number 23, 7th street Nchanga South Township in Chingola, is a hydraulic fitter, a contractor under AMSL,” Ms. Katanga said.

She said Mr. Ging’s arrest came a day after KCM casting wheel control room operator, Enyani Zimba, was picked on Wednesday in connection with the same and that investigat­ion have continued while the duo are still in detention.

“The other one is a Zambian named Enyani Zimba, 32, of house Number 48 Kasama Street Nchanga North Township, who works at KCM as casting wheel control room operator.

They are both at Chingola central police station and investigat­ions still continue,” she said.
