Kalumbila Health post completed

- By JACKSON MAPAPAYI

KALUMBILA Town Council has completed the construction of health post at Kyansununu in Kibanza ward.

This has been the cry of the people of Kyansununu, and so we are very happy to the local authority for completing this facility.

G-greens Investment constructed the facility at a total cost of K220, 869 under the Ward Development Fund (WDF).

Residents interviewed have expressed gratitude to the local authority for listening to their cries.

Mr John Muba told the Daily Nation that the people were happy with the completion of the health post.

He said the issue of covering long distances in seeking health services would now end following the completion of the health facility.

‘’This has been the cry of the people of Kyansununu, and so we are very happy to the local authority for completing this facility,’’ he said.

Another resident, Ms Ruth Mulowa, said the completion had come at a time when the people were in dire need of the facility.

She said people, especially expecting mothers had been covering long distances to seek health services.

‘’To be honest, we are very happy with the coming of this facility in our area because we used to either go to Kyabankanka which is about 15 kilometres, Kandemba or Mitukutuku,’’ she said.

Ms Martha Lukunko also commended the local authority for the initiative.

Ms Lukunko however appealed to the local authority to consider putting up staff houses at the facility so that the health workers could reside within the vicinity. ‘’No one knows what they may fall sick, so it will be ideal if the council could think of putting up staff houses near the facility,’’ she said.
