Infrastructure elates Zimba

THE Patriotic Front government has made remarkable progress in terms of roads and other infrastructure development project across the country, former minister of Information and Broadcasting, Services Newstead Zimba has said.

Mr Zimba said the PF government was a practical government which believed in action and not mere talk.

Those who are criticising the government were doing that for political mileage, he said. Mr Zimba said since the PF came into power in 2011, the country had received a full facelift in all the 10 provinces and districts.

He cited Lusaka Province, which was changing daily because of the infrastructure development the government was implementing. Mr Zimba was speaking in Lusaka yesterday when Lusaka Minister Bowman Lusambo paid a courtesy call on him. He wondered what the opposition political parties would take over from, when the current government was doing tremendous work in developing the country.

Mr Zimba said those who were busy writing negative stories in hostile publications about President Lungu and his government were just cheating themselves and wasting their time because PF had taken a progressive approach to development.

“Lusaka has now become a real capital of the country because the PF government is practically approaching the development agenda, and I wonder those opposition parties who say they will take over, taking over from what when the PF have taken development to all parts of the country and come 2021 people have eyes to see?” Mr Zimba said.

And Mr Zimba appealed to the media not to be used by selfish politicians by reporting fake and malicious news because such reporting was misleading the nation.

He said the media was an important stakeholder in any developing nation and should therefore report the truth and remain professional instead of scandalising innocent people especially leaders.

Mr Lusambo is happy that former leaders were appreciating the work the PF government is doing in ensuring that Zambia is developed.
