Kambwili exit from alliance looms – ZRP

- By SILUMESI MALUMO

CHISHIMBA Kambwili’s exit from the opposition alliance is looming because of failure to agree with Hakainde Hichilema, Zambia Republican Party (ZRP) leader Wright Musoma has said.

Mr Musoma said Mr Kambwili should not fool himself that the alliance would work amid all the disagreements with Mr Hichilema.

He said in an interview yesterday soon, the embattled National Democratic Congress (NDC) consultant would leave the alliance like others had done.

Recently, the outspoken member Patriot for Economic Progress (PEP) leader Sean Tembo pulled out of the alliance, citing failure by partners to agree on pertinent issues.

And Mr Kambwili says he is disappointed with Mr Hichilema for fielding a candidate in Lubwa Ward by-election in Kitwe.

Mr Kambwili said he was shocked that the UPND leader had acted in the manner he did when they had met and agreed to support each other in Lubwa and Katuba by-elections.

Mr Musoma said Mr Kambwili’s days in the alliance were numbered because of the disagreements among the members.

He said the disagreements and withdrawals from the alliance by some members showed there was some cracks.

Mr Musoma said the alliance was not formed on shared principles but on hatred against the ruling party. “We know that Kambwili is desperate after he was kicked out of government and wants to find political relevance. So he wants to use HH. But I can assure Kambwili that HH is just using him like he did GBM,” he said.
