N/Western Province expo expected to resolve investment challenges
NORTH-WESTERN Province Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu has said that the forthcoming Northwest Expo aims at resolving investment challenges being faced in the various chiefdoms of Northwestern province.
Mr. Mubukwanu said government was aware of the existing investment opportunities in the region, saying show casing them to would be investors through the upcoming Expo will resolve some of the current challenges.
The minister said this in Kabompo over the
weekend when he officiated
at the 2019 Chivweka traditional ceremony of the Luchazi speaking people in Chikenge.
He further appealed to the royal highnesses to buy into the Expo by encouraging their subjects to own the programme
so as to full benefit from
the potential investment opportunities that it will bring forth. Speaking earlier on behalf of Chief Kalunga, Chivweka traditional ceremony National Chairperson, Charles Chihinge appealed to government to consider working on the ChikengeKabompo road which the state promised to work on in 2012.
Col. Chihinge said the condition of the road has drastically affected the development pace of the entire chiefdom despite the presence of natural resources such as timber and honey. He further said that there is urgent need to construct a new secondary school building as Chikenge School is currently squatting at the existing primary school.
He however, commended government for the numerous development projects being undertaken in the region.
