Kalukungu Market traders win kudos

- By KALOBWE BWALYA

I AM happy that traders at Kalukungu market have started talking part in the monthly Keep Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy Campaign, says Kapwepwe ward 25 councillor Patrick Salubusa.

Mr Salubusa said the monthly cleaning exercise was a success in the area because even people at household level had realised the importance of the programme.

Mr Salubusa said zone leaders who were in charge of the Know Your Neighbour Project also took part in the cleaning and were also supervising cleaning in their respective zones which included cleaning of Lilanda and Friday Markets.

He said traders from Lilanda market also took part in the cleaning exercise adding that the initiative and the running of the ward had continued to receive maximum support from all the corners of the ward.

Mr Salubusa said the participation of traders would now bring sanity as garbage disposal would be dumped in designated places within the market.

He said there was need for marketeers to spearhead the programme in trading places because that was were a lot of solid waste were being generated.
