Respect coaches – Wada

- By GRACE CHAILE LESOETSA

FORMER Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda has advised Zambian clubs to respect their

coach’s plans and programmes if

the teams have to fair positively in CAF competitions.

Nyirenda said it was unfair to demand positive results from coaches without providing full support.

In an interview, the Baroka

c coach said he was confident

Zesco, Green Eagles, Zanaco and Buildcon would put up a strong challenge in the 2019/2020 Champions League and Confederation Cup.

“I am optimistic that they can do well provided they have planned well and their plans are followed closely according to programmes laid by coaches.”

“Our only problem is that we

ne er full go b coaches’ plans

and programmes. They are not well backed. They meet so many obstacles and at the same time asking too much from them,” he said.

Eagles will face South African side Orlando Pirates and Zesco have a clash against Green Mamba of eSwatini in the preliminary round of the Champions League.

Confederation Cup debutants Buildcon will play Young Buffaloes of eSwatini while Zanaco are on bye.

Meanwhile, Nyirenda said his target was to win all the three titles in the 2019/2020 South African league season.

Nyirenda said Baroka Fc had the depth to challenge for a league title, Nedbank Cup and also defend the Telkom Cup.

“Now we have brought in new faces and going by the way our pre-season work had gone, I am positive we are going to compete favourable and possibly challenge

for the top three or first in league,

he said.

Nyirenda scored a plus last season when he guided Baroka to

a first e er elkom Cup and sa ed

the team from relegation.
