President Lungu holds talks with Nysusi
PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has met his Mozambican counterpart Filipe Nyusi prior to the signing of the Election Peace Agreement which is due to be signed today between the opposition Mozambique National Resistance (RENAMO) and the ruling government.

President Lungu who is the current Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) s’ organ on Politics, Defence and Security met the Mozambican President at State House in the capital, Maputo.
Mr Lungu was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Joseph Malanji and Presidential Affairs Minister Freedom Sikazwe.
The two heads of State, after the talk, appeared for a photo session in front of the State House building.
One of the objectives of the Election Peace Pledge is to hold peaceful elections in October 2019 and President Lungu as Chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security has been instrumental in ensuring peace in the region.
The President later met with Former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete at Serena Polana Hotel in Maputo.
President Lungu thanked the Tanzanian former head of State for attending the just ended Economic Summit organised by Economics Association of Zambia in Livingstone.
President Kikwete said he was pleased to attend the summit in Zambia’s Tourist capital Livingstone stating that it was important for neighbouring countries to share best practices.
