ONE of Zambia’s celebrated musical artiste Kondwani Kaira, better known by his stage name Chef 187 is billed for a concert along with Nigerian sensation Mr P and Skales slated for August 31, 2019.
The event has been organised by Chivas Regal the renowned proprietors of the globally celebrated Scotch Whisky this August in Lusaka.
Chef 187’s sponsor Chivas Regal, is determined on reinforcing the value of African collaboration and exhibition of different African musical blends seen through the prism of drink flavours.
Chivas regal Regional commercial manager Michael Kaniki said If music was blended, then African music would turn into a creation called ‘Afro beat’ a unique blend, showing that what is blended is better and unifying.
With a campaign theme ‘Success is a blend’, the forthcoming The Experience Concert to be graced by Some of Africa’s most
celebrated acts, led by Zambian Hip Hop superstar, Chef 187, with support from Nigeria’s Mr. P and Skales is set to take place at Lusaka’s Levy Mall Car Park on Saturday, August 31 at 18:00 hours.
“In this context, Chivas celebrates African culture with a blend of authentic African music with the mirth of premium whisky,” he says.
Mr Kaniki adds that Just like Scotch whisky, everyone is made up of a unique blend of character that makes them who they are, and when there’s collaboration, the greatest success is attained.
Mr Kaniki observed that the collaboration between Chef 187 and Mr P and Skales would amplify the three’s uniqueness and create an afro- blend idea that Africans across the continent love.
Chef 187 is a Zambian hip hop musician, a former Infinix ambassador and former Proflight ambassador from the Copperbelt. He is the younger brother of hip pop artiste Macky 2.
He claims that the name Chef 187 means to kill, cook and serve (chef) while 187 is the slang term for murder used by the American police. Another interpretation states that if music is like food, then he is the chef.
He is an award winning hip hop artiste with killer hit singles like ‘UNBEATABLE’, ‘KUMWESU’ and many others elevating himself to be one of Zambia’s most celebrated rappers.
