'We told you failure at Football House, is as visible as pregnancy'
ADear Editor, S a supporter of women’s football, it is beyond disappointment for me to get news that our under-20 women’s team has not travelled to Morocco for the All African Games.
Why are we even pretending nothing has happened? This honestly is comedy of the highest order for a body like the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) failing to secure visas when government paid for the team to be in that country.
This development is an indication that there is no leadership at Football House and foresight in terms of developing local football. Good administrators plan way ahead of schedule.
The level of thinking at Football House is something that might literally, need a brain surgery because how do you expect football to grow and develop with this type of management?
The failure to send the team to Morocco has far reaching consequences in
that the girls have been denied a career advancing chance, monetary gain and glory.
FAZ under the able leadership of the so-called business acumen, one Andrew Kamanga is failing and that no amount of sugar coating will launder this “takataka” administration.
This is really disappointing and should never be condoned considering the progress the team made at the last 2019 regional Cosafa championship.
Anyway, we have already provided an alternative in Gideon Mwenya to redeem declining Zambian football.
For Sports Minister Emmanuel Mulenga, kindly get used to this mediocrity at Football House. Nothing more nothing less but at least people should learn to take responsibility when there is failure like at this stage.
However, my question is, who will reimburse the money that government paid towards tickets and lodging and that the country should be told how much has been wasted amidst austerity measures?
When we say there is no administration at Football House this is what we mean. Our football is simply running on auto pilot.
If one cannot resign with such negligence then I don’t know what will move one to do so?
