PF hail Northwest administration over expo
THE North Western Province administration has been praised for hosting the investment exposition aimed at stimulating the economic development in Solwezi.
Patriotic Front senior member Martin Mbaya said the administration under provincial minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu, the permanent Secretary Willies Mangimela together with the entire committee should be commended for the good job they had done in organising the Expo North-West.
Mr Mbaya told the Daily Nation in an interview that North Westerners were yet to see fruits of the expo following the signing of the memorandums of understanding (MoUs) during the expo.
He said the MOUs were a plus to the province as this would not only result in employment creation for the local people but would also bring about development in the province.
Mr Mbaya said the funding of Kaleni Fruit Processing plant in Mwinilunga by the Industrial Development Corporation was government’s desire to make sure that the plant was revived.
The reviving of the canary, he added, would not only enhance the tourism and manufacturing sectors but also create jobs for the local people.
Mr Mbaya said the setting up of the canary plant in the district would give opportunities to small scale farmers to supply fruits for processing into as drinks.
He said the coming of the Zambia Forestry and Forestry Industries (ZAFFICO) in Mushindamo and Kalumbila district has come at a right time, adding that having the ZAFFICO deal signed was a plus to the people in the province.
He said the signing of the deal would now attract more investments into the province.
