Chawama PF youths buy two buses
PATRIOTIC Front youths w m constituency have bought two buses valued at K290, 000 as part of e r em owerme initiative.
Constituency youth chairperson Mohammad Mutete said the buses had been bought using money which the youth have been mobilising in the last nine months.
He said the party was still mobilising more funds to buy two more buses so that each ward could have a bus. Mr Mutete who is also Chawama ward four councillor, said the constituency leadership thought of ways to empower youths at grassroots and arrived at the decision to buy buses. He called on the beneficiaries to guard the vehicles jealously.
And PF Lusaka district chairperson David Silubanji said the district leadership shall continue to provide resource mobilisation across all party structures in the district.
He said the cry for empowerment in the constituency had come to reality with the purchase of the buses. He added that the aim of buying the buses was to allow the party address financial challenges at the grassroots.
“It is the desire of President Edgar Lungu to see that all party structures are sustained. I commend the constituency leadership for the gesture it is my prayer that other constituency shall emulate Chawama constituency,” he said. He said the buses would help in addressing unemployment among some youths in the constituency.
Meanwhile Kabwata constituency chairperson Caristo Chibiliti said the move by Chawama constituency should be emulated by all PF members.
